The time has sprung forward and we’re leaving winter behind — at least on the plate. A couple of local restaurants have added seasonal items to the menu, so let’s dig in.
Known for its American classics with a twist, Eureka! has added appetizers, entrees, drinks and a dessert to its lineup. Appetizer highlights include crispy glazed brussel sprouts ($8), topped with herb oil and macadamia nuts, and a new three-cheese mac ’n’ cheese ($8) topped with bacon and Fritos. The smoked chicken nachos ($11), which previously featured a sweet and slightly offputting barbecue sauce, have been revamped, featuring a black bean schmear, Monterey Jack cheese, avocado, tomatillo and chipotle sauces, tomatoes, cilantro, sliced jalapeños and sour cream.
