Members of the Kern County Board of Supervisors, who are convening in the historic gold-mining town of Havilah, aren’t planning to debate any controversial issues Tuesday. The public meeting at Kern County’s original county seat, an hour’s drive east of Bakersfield, is really just an excuse for a picnic. It’s Kern County’s 150th birthday and it just seems like the proper thing to do.
But we hope the Supervisors take on at least one item of utmost concern: That wretched song.
