Note to all prospective mayors and any other politicians who mention jobs and new businesses in their candidate interviews: You can scratch that objective from your top-three list. If our city council can't harvest economic growth from its own backyard, any thought of our city appearing attractive to outsiders just slipped another notch downward.
From new construction jobs to long-term support in the downtown neighborhood, it’s a missed opportunity indeed. Since it is the political season, perhaps “The Art Of The Deal” should be on the City Council's recommended reading list.
