While most support for high school athletes takes place on the sidelines, Bakersfield diners will have an opportunity to get into the spirit Tuesday at Olive Garden. The Italian restaurant chain has again teamed with NFHS Network — the nation's leading high school sports media company — for High School Spirit Night.
The events, held twice per school year at all 800-plus Olive Garden locations in the nation, raise funds for a selected school in each city. Liberty High's Patriots will benefit from the Bakersfield event that runs from 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at the restaurant, 1701 New Stine Road. Customers are encouraged to wear the school colors (navy, red and white). Since the partnership began, Olive Garden restaurants nationwide have donated more than $570,000 with $66,000 to schools in California.
