Sure, Condors winger Josh Winquist was just trying to draw a couple of extra minutes on a high-sticking penalty, but his effort during the second period Saturday was symbolic: Winquist and the Condors were willing to do anything — even try to make their own faces bleed — to improve their chances for a crucial victory at Rabobank Arena.
None of it, however, was enough for Bakersfield to overcome the Ontario Reign in a 2-0 loss in front of 5,826 that provides one of the final nails in the Condors’ door to the American Hockey League playoffs.
