Am I wrong in saying that Week 2 didn't hold that many surprises? At least not relative to how high school football usually works. Ridgeview rebounded but still lost to a Liberty team that continues to show it can win big games in a mature fashion. Bakersfield rolled over another overmatched opponent. Stockdale had a little bit of a letdown after its big win against Ridgeview but still got to 2-0.
There were great games, don't get me wrong — start with East's see-saw win against North, Foothill's epic comeback against Arvin and Golden Valley's big comeback against Chavez that the Titans thwarted in the final minutes, not to mention entertaining losses for Garces and Frontier on the coast. But I can't say there was one result that made me think, "How did THAT happen?" And for me, that's pretty rare.
