One of the local entrepreneurial success stories of the past decade and beyond has been Lengthwise Brewing Co., now open at three distinctly different locations: The Marketplace (small, with a clubby feel), The Pub (Rosedale, more lively) and now the new and expanded Brewery (the mother ship) on District Boulevard, west of the original Schirra Court location and looking about twice as big.
Talk about getting into something right before it all explodes. Back in 2002, Lengthwise was a bold pioneer. Craft beer is everywhere now, exciting times to be sure, but Lengthwise was the only place turning out a trio of home brews when many locals limited themselves to Bud and Coors. The list of brews is up to eight (nine if you include the seasonal double centennial ale) and they also pour other local products such as Temblor and Dionysus. (A Facebook post noted the venue will eventually have 24 beers available on tap.) The menu has grown similarly over the years in many positive ways, which we’ll detail below after talking about how impressive the new facility is.
