Price: Major renovations on Bakersfield High School’s historic Griffith Field began last week and our Trevor Horn was there to chronicle the demolition. Trevor didn’t write about the undertaking for just our traditional platforms — print, mobile app and website — he utilized social media, too, where more recent BHS students are most likely to reside. He posted visuals on Instagram, a mobile photo-sharing, video-sharing social networking service that is particularly popular with younger people — 90 percent of its 150 million users are under the age of 35 — and on Facebook. Last December, Facebook unveiled a live video broadcast feature — yes, live broadcast— and Trevor told part of the story that way, too, panning the scene with his smartphone.
